Nestled within the Bodnant Estate, Minafon is a beautiful cottage, ideal for a romantic break in the countryside.

Nestled within the Bodnant Estate, Minafon is a beautiful cottage, ideal for a romantic break in the countryside.

Minafon has been restored by the Bodnant Estate and is delightfully located in an elevated position on the edge of the estate between Conwy and Llanrwst, with great views over the River Conwy towards the Snowdonia mountains. The cottage itself has been delightfully restored to a high standard and is decorated in a traditional style. This is a great base for a perfect outdoor break. This detached cottage lies on its own off a woodland track with a pretty stream tumbling past where you’ll find glorious walks along private paths through woods and across farmland. The world famous Bodnant Garden, owned by the National Trust, is central to the estate and opens 361 days a year. The garden is famed for its laburnum arch, Italianate terraces, waterfalls and national collections of plants. With 80 acres now open to the public, this is a ‘must see’ whilst staying at Minafon.
The Bodnant Estate is also home to the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre – you can pop in and stock up on the essentials, or treat yourself to a tasty snack in the café. You can also browse in the Bodnant Plant Centre and there’s a wide choice of individual craft businesses selling a fantastic selection of hand made crafts too.
Conveniently situated for Conwy, this historic town is well worth a visit, with its Edward I castle and town walls, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, National Trust’s Aberconwy House, Plas Mawr, and a delightful quay from where you can take a boat trip on the Conwy estuary. Nearby Llandudno offers a full range of shopping, the Venue Cymru theatre where you can perhaps catch a visiting West End show, and the famous Great Orme with its street tramway, cable car and Bronze Age Copper Mine. Or you can visit the market town of Llanrwst, and pretty Betws-y-Coed, the Gateway to the Snowdonia National Park with walks in the Gwydyr Forest, and home to the amazing Zip World Fforest Coaster and treetop nets – a fun way of experiencing the forest! Beach 10 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles. All on the ground floor.
