This beautiful listed property is the ultimate romantic retreat. If you’re looking for historic character, pure relaxation and rejuvination, this property is the one for you.

Situated in the conservation area in the historic market town of Denbigh, thought to have once been an old Elizabethan Inn according to ’Ancient and Modern Denbigh’, by Professor John Williams, Castle Hill is full of history waiting to be explored, cradled within the medieval castle walls built in the 13th century and all bordering ancient woodland. Discover in the museum cabinet details of this beautiful listed property, historic local figures and the famous derelict Denbigh Asylum, all in front of the roaring fire, or take in the stunning views and sunsets whilst soaking in the pure salt water hydrotherapy spa. Interesting to know, Denbigh hosts a whole number of events including beer festivals, Cadw ‘Open Doors’, weekly markets, a Midsummer Festival, Plum Festival, Carnival and Motor Show. Boxing day ‘barrel rolling’ is an international event. Proudly, Denbigh boasts the Gold Award for Wales in Bloom 2019, best ‘small town’ category.

Locally, if history is where your interest lies, every Saturday and Sunday morning between May and September, local volunteers lead tours of the medieval market town. Alternatively, if the tales of King’s Commander Henry deLacy don’t excite you, picturesque Denbigh Moors where those who enjoy cycling and walking can enjoy a day out to visit the Brenig, Alwen and Aled lakes are all on your doorstep, in addition is the designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; the Clwydian Range. Within easy reach of Denbigh are the cathedral at St Asaph, the castle at Bodelwyddan, the seaside resorts of Conwy and Llandudno, the historic city of Chester and the beautiful Bodnant gardens. The Snowdonia National Park is a short drive, with its lakes, mountains, walking and cycling, while the Llyn Peninsula and excellent beaches on the Isle of Anglesey promise a memorable outing.

For those who enjoy dining out or experiencing a taste of local ales, Denbigh and the surrounding area boasts a variety of exquisite cafés, restaurants and country pubs.
Castle Hill’s fantastic location means you are sure to find something that suits you – amazing architecture, wonderful walks, stunning scenery and fascinating historical spots close by, with the spa, the perfect remedy to the day’s adventures. Alternatively, why not take a nice hot bath in the property’s bedroom bursting with character, before settling down for the night in the amazing four-poster bed?

Along with the property’s beautifully considered interior, the front and rear gardens have been lovingly crafted and thought out, and offer a truly wonderful space to escape in.
