Dolgoed House is beautifully situated located in the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and is also ideal for exploring the Fforest Fawr Geopark.

This detached and spacious house, set off a country lane, close to the small village of Bethlehem in the upper Twyi Valley, has lovely views across open farmland and up towards Carn Goch, an Iron age hill fort. The house has lots of character with exposed stone and beams and boasts four en-suite bedrooms; two of which are on the ground floor. There is a wood burning stove for cosy evenings round the fire, and a large lawned garden and patio for enjoying al fresco dining on warmer days.

The attractive shopping town of Llandeilo and the village of Llangadog are just a few miles away and offer a good choice of places to eat and drink. There is spectacular walking along the high ridges of the Geopark, plus scenic cycle rides or drives along the river. The area is home to the red kite, one of the UK’s most beautiful birds of prey. It is also the setting of numerous castles and historical sites set in stunning locations including Carreg Cennen, Newtown House, Dinefwr Castle and Park and the Dolau Cothi Gold Mines (underground tours available). The National Botanic Garden of Wales, with its giant glass dome is well worth a visit at any time of year, while at the coast, Kidwelly Castle and Pembrey Country Park, with its 8 miles of sandy beaches, are must-see day trips. Shop and pubs and restaurant 3 miles. Spacious living/dining room with wood-burning stove and wooden floor. Spacious kitchen with breakfast table and tiled floor. Utility/garage. Beamed double bedroom with TV, sitting area, door to patio and en-suite bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. Further double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Separate toilet. First floor: Beamed double bedroom with TV and step down to en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 infants and a toddler. We all were very comfortable and had a good holiday. we traveled around 50 miles from the cottage. some beautiful places and gardens. We had good weather apart from Saturday rain rain and stayed at home. Fuel was a problem could not get Premium petrol around and our cars did not like the new fuel. Loved local restaurants Welsh Lager went well. But were limited with restaurants only opening Friday to Sunday evenings. Would love to come again and perhaps 2 weeks would be sufficient.
