Aberaeron is such a beautiful place! Lovely restaurants to choose from and a nice town to walk around. Such a shame the house didn’t live up to expectations. I have to admit after seeing other reviews of the cleanliness I was pleasantly surprised when we entered, it didn’t seem as bad as other have said and the beds were made to hotel standard! I feel this house just needs some TLC and more of a deep clean by the owners. The floors throughout the house don’t seem to be cleaned, one walk through the house and your feet are filthy. We found food (old potatoes) inside the kitchen drawers and socks in one of the bedroom drawers. The shower heads never stopped dripping and the side of the corner bath is broken. Quite a lot of bulbs are on their way out. Kitchen tap is wobbly. The garden furniture was absolutely filthy and the hut at the end of the garden looks a lovely place to sit until you actually go in there, it was so dirty. This is just to list a few things we found. Nothing major, but is a real shame considering what we paid. Feels like the owners need to possibly invest more into the upkeep and cleaning of the property. We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and this is the first time we haven’t had a welcome pack and no guest book to sign- which is probably a good thing!
