Built in 1902, this traditional Victorian style building originally accommodated officials tasked with engineering the six magnificent Elan Valley Dams nestled in the nearby hills. The glorious reservoirs bought further prosperity to Rhayader and with it, a bakery found its home in the property. The upper floor (The Cwtch) accommodated the hard working bakers. Using a rope and pulley to lift the flour, the old hatch can still be seen on the property. The Cwtch, with flexible zip and link bed option, has been meticulously converted to capture the spirit of a bustling mid Wales market town. Standing in the heart of Rhayader, this lofty retreat offers convenience and comfort as standard. Get closer to the stars with views of the acclaimed dark skies from The Cwtch tucked in the eaves.The Cwtch gives you the perfect base to explore Rhayader and the Elan Valley. The rolling Cambrian Mountains on the doorstep are yours to enjoy in all seasons. Equally as simple is your access to the spectacular mid Wales countryside. Just two minutes from The Cwtch is the Elan Valley Trail, an old railway which has been adapted for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Two pristine riverside parks either side of the apartment are also accessible.
