This single-storey long barn and former dairy dates back to the 1650s and lies in the quiet, small village of Mathry on the edge of the Pembrokeshire National Park. It has been lovingly restored, taking great care to keep many of its original features. There are arrow slit windows, vaulted ceilings, exposed brickwork, limestone flooring and deep inset window sills all blending together with tasteful decor to create a wonderful holiday home for a large family. The open plan living space is divided into two sections with the living room having an impressive wood-burning stove, ideal for the cooler months, TV, Wi-Fi and comfy fabric sofas. Moving through to the kitchen/dining room, there is a large farmhouse table and chairs, and limestone flooring. The main bedroom is light, has high ceilings and boasts a king size bed and en-suite with a shower room and toilet. The second double is slightly smaller but equally as attractive. The third and final bedroom has a bunk bed, ideal for children. The barn also has a generous amount of outside space with an enclosed lawn and patio to the front from which you can allow dogs and children to play in relative safety.Mathry is a small village, positioned on a hill top offering fine views of St David’s Peninsula. You are just 200 yards from the local pub and restaurant and a stone’s throw from Abermawr Bay, a dog friendly sand and pebble beach ideal for fishing, swimming and surfing. A short drive brings you to the historic city of St David’s, the smallest city in Wales. Visit the magnificent cathedral, explore the nearby Pembrokeshire Coast or take a trip to Grassholm Island to see the large amount of nesting gannets.
